Dr. Ouellette is a multidisciplinary geoscientist whose work focuses broadly on Earth’s oceans and their evolution over time. He is passionate about ocean science research, marine sample curation, and science communication. In addition to serving as the Institute’s Principal Investigator and Chief Oceanographer, he curates the Institute’s Marine Geologic Materials Collection.
Dr. Ouellette earned his bachelor of science degree with distinction from the Pennsylvania State University, his master of science degree from Western Kentucky University, and his doctor of philosophy degree from Louisiana State University. He maintains membership in The Oceanography Society, is past president of the international honors fraternity Gamma Theta Upsilon Eta Psi chapter, and is federally certified as a professional applied scientist.
