Back to the Caymans!

It’s that time of year again! This summer is off to a brilliant start on Little Cayman Island with an exciting line up of summer activities. First up, the PAST Lab will be collecting fossil coral samples across the island to examine potential tropical storm frequency and intensity during the recent Holocene. Following that, the CCMI will be conducting the 20th year AGRRA surveys on the reefs around all three Cayman islands. I’m enthused to be assisting with the benthic and coral components of the surveys! And to top off an already packed summer, I’ll be teaching a course on coral reef ecology and conservation for Rutgers students on-site at the Little Cayman Research Centre!

After my first full day on the Island, I’m ecstatic to be back, and look forward to an exhilarating couple months under the Caymanian sun!
