This weekly dive is quite the special event. We took the Banana Wind and Sea-goer across the channel to Cayman Brac to dive an old Soviet Koni class warship built for the Cuban Navy. The ship, formerly designated as “356”, was renamed the M/V Captain Keith Tibbets when it was purchased by the Caymanian government to sink as a dive attraction. Perhaps ironic, as the Koni class of soviet warships were designed as “anti-submarine” vessels, the M/V Captain Keith Tibbets now serves as one of Cayman Brac’s most well-known sub-marine tourist attractions. The dive itself was very pleasant, with plenty of naval and natural architecture to keep us engaged for the duration of the dive. Especially when a Hawksbill sea turtle stopped by to swim with us!
